1934 Ford roadster pickup owned by hot rod hall of famer and Hot Rod Magazine publisher Tex Smith. Tex bought this car from Steve Upton, owner of Oz Rods in Australia in the mid 90’s and owned it for over 30 years….it went thru a 3 year restoration by Bill Miller in California and was finished in 2016.
The all steel roadster pickup started life in Australia as an Aussie Ute and was transformed to its present form….it is in beautiful condition with only 600 miles since the Resto was completed….under the hood is a punched out 1957 331 hemi , with a one-off intake manifold by Sema award winning fabricator Hells Gate hot rods of Idaho , topped off with 4 single barrel 97 Stromberg carbs….power is backed by a 350 turbo automatic transmission with a floor mounted lokar shifter.
Steering column is aFlaming River tilt column …..upholstery is canyon leather and carpet is German short weave….disc brakes on the front , drum rear….complete boxed and reinforced original frame/chassis…..Aluminum wheels are made in Australia….brand new tires all 4 corners ….Walker radiator , ford 9” rear with 373 gears.
